Bloc Wand Replacement Service Areas
Mobile Bloc wand to chain conversions across the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver
Is Your Bloc Wand Broken?
The twist wand is the part we see fail most often on Bloc roller blinds. If any of this sounds familiar, the blind itself is usually fine — it just needs a better control.
Signs the Wand Has Failed
- • Wand spins but the blind does not move
- • Wand has snapped, bent, or come off
- • Clicking or grinding when you twist it
- • Blind creeps down or will not stay up
- • Blind is stuck fully up or fully down
What We Replace
- • Twist wand and its control mechanism removed
- • Chain-drive control fitted to your existing blind
- • New chain sized to your window
- • Chain guard installed to keep the chain contained
- • Blind re-hung, levelled, and tested
What Stays the Same
- • Your existing fabric and roller
- • The cassette and side channels on blackout models
- • The same fit in your window
- • No re-measuring or re-ordering
- • No waiting on a whole new blind

How the Conversion Works
One visit, at your home or office
Send a Photo
Text or email a photo of the blind and the broken wand so we can confirm it is a Bloc wand system and bring the right parts.
We Come to You
The work is done on-site across the Fraser Valley and Metro Vancouver — no need to take the blind down or drop it off.
Wand Out, Chain In
The wand control is removed and a chain control with a chain guard is fitted to your existing blind.
Test and Hand Over
We run the blind up and down, check it stops where it should, and show you the new control before we leave.
Why Convert Instead of Fitting Another Wand?
Bloc roller blinds are well made where it counts: the fabric, the roller, and on blackout models the cassette and side channels. The weak point we see again and again is the twist wand. Once its twist mechanism wears or strips, the wand turns without lifting anything.
Fitting another wand puts the same part back in the same spot. A chain control is a simpler mechanism with a long track record on roller blinds, and it is easy to service down the road.
The chain guard matters as much as the chain. It keeps the chain contained instead of hanging as a loose loop, which is tidier and an important safety measure in homes with children or pets. If you have young children, tell us and we will talk through the best option for that room, including cordless or motorized.
Fix My Blinds is an independent repair service and is not affiliated with Bloc Blinds. If your blind is still under warranty, check with your retailer first.
Bloc Wand Replacement FAQ
Common questions about converting a Bloc wand to a chain
Can you replace my broken Bloc wand with a new wand?
We convert to a chain and chain guard instead. The wand is the part that fails, and a new one tends to go the same way.
Do I need to buy a new blind?
Usually not. The conversion reuses your existing fabric and roller, so you are paying for a new control and the visit, not a new blind.
Will it work on a Bloc blackout blind with side channels?
In most cases, yes. Send us a photo of the blind and the control end and we will confirm before booking.
Is a chain safe if I have kids?
The chain is installed with a chain guard so it does not hang as a loose loop. For young children's rooms we can also talk through cordless or motorized options.
How long does it take?
Most conversions are done in a single on-site visit, and several blinds can be done in the same trip.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the number of blinds and their size. Send a photo and we will give you a quote before any work begins.
