Start with the way the blind moves. Horizontal blinds have slats that tilt and raise inside a headrail; roller blinds wrap around a tube; Roman shades fold into fabric pleats; cellular shades have a honeycomb-shaped fabric structure; and vertical blinds hang from a track with slats that rotate or slide.
Look at the control as well. A cord, chain, wand, or loop points to a manual system, while a remote, wall switch, battery compartment, or motor housing points to a motorized system. If you are still unsure, send us a short description or a photo and we will help identify the likely repair service.
You can also describe the symptom instead of the blind type. Tell us whether it will not raise, lower, tilt, slide, roll, or respond to the remote. We can begin with the problem and confirm the service at the window.
